The Miller School is coming off of a up and down season that ended in dramatic fashion in the state championship game. What should we expect from the Mavericks in 2023?
Classification: VISAA Division I 2022 Record: 14-13-2 *Lost state champ to Cape Henry*
Key Losses: Jacob Exum (Virginia Tech), TJ Brooks (JMU), Henry Cooke (Virginia Tech), Laken Tignor (PHCC), Landon Abrahamson, Thomas Reilly, *Noah Murray- Pro 5 NC*
Uncommitted Player to Watch: Will Townsend
The Mavericks came up a little short in 2022, losing to Cape Henry in the VISAA Division I title game. They have a ton to replace from last year's team, especially on the mound, but they have some new faces that will help carry the load. Dominick Cafferillo (Georgetown), Jack McMullan (Liberty), and Jackson Ingram (West Virginia) will be big additions to the Maverick lineup, but I think the questions begin and end on the mound. If anyone can help a group of young arms figure it out on the mound, it is Coach Wagner and staff. As always, they will play a tough, competitive schedule. If Devin Christopher (Lincoln Memorial) and their host of young arms can provide steady innings, the Mavericks could be right back in the mix in 2023.
