After a fifteen win season in 2022, the Benedictine Cadets look to make their way back to the VISAA final four in 2023. What will it take for them to get there?
Classification: VISAA Division I 2022 Record: 15-12
Key Losses: Corey Adams (William & Mary), Derrell Fletcher (VMI), Wil Moore (VMI)
New Faces: Sam Kaczmarek, Elijah Coston, Bryce Adams
Coming off of a 2022 that saw its ups and downs, expect the Cadets to be right back in the mix for a VISAA Division I state title in 2023. Coach Ryan and the Cadets return a large portion of their lineup, see Terrence Rhodes (Norfolk State), Jordan Olivera (William & Mary), Riley Roarty (Old Dominion), as well as a group of arms that got healthy late in 2022 and got their fair share of experience last season. In addition to a strong group of returners all over the field, Benedictine adds three new faces in Elijah Coston, Sam Kaczmarek, and Bryce Adams, all of whom transferred and reclassified to the 2024 class. The mainstays on the mound will more than likely be Daniel Lingle (William & Mary) and Jagen Ratlief (VMI). Another arm that could be a frontline guy for the Cadets is ODU commit, Riley Roarty. Roarty, once healthy in 2022, saw a nice jump in velo and had a strong summer on the travel circuit.
