On Thursday PBR VA/DC travelled to Williamsburg to watch Walsingham Academy face Lafayette in what was Lafayette's final scrimmage before the public school regular season begins on Monday. Take a look at some notes and video on four players from Thursday's game.
Walsingham
Cody Christman 3B / 1B / Walsingham Academy , VA / 2022Rankings StateRank: 270 / POS: 15
Solid 5-11, 215-pound frame. Strength in upper body. Had a really nice day at the plate. Showed patience in counts, power in both gaps, and solid pitch recognition with barrel awareness. Knew what he was looking for in counts and capitalized with loud barrels in both gaps. Will be a run producer for Walsingham and would be a nice addition to the middle of an order.

Trey Christman SS / 3B / Walsingham Academy , VA / 2023Rankings StateRank: 37 / POS: 7
Listed at 6-foot-4, 190-pounds. Long lean frame with room to add more strength. Square stance at the plate, small stride landing square, and hands make minimal load. Flat path and swing stays in the zone and through contact. Got a couple of elevated pitches that he produced some loud contact on, including a double to deep left in his final at bat. Christman is a solid, rangy defender at shortstop and will more than likely move to corner infield/corner outfield at the next level.

Luke Harlow OF / RHP / Walsingham Academy , VA / 2024Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 5
6-foot, 180-pound thin athletic frame. Simple load and stride. Starts and finishes on line. Level path to contact. Was a little early in regards to timing in a few at bats, resulting in a few ground balls to the left side. Gets out of the box well and ran a 4.2 home-first on a slow wet surface. Going to be an interesting bat to follow into the spring.

Lafayette
Luke Hanson SS / RHP / Lafayette, VA / 2022The Super 60 alum showcased some of his physical tools yesterday. Did not get much defensive work in game, but showcased the arm strength in pregame. Works through the catch, clean exchange, and carry on throws across. Throws on the run with accuracy and can throw from multiple slots. At the plate Hanson got into some plus counts during his second and third at bats. Hit a groundball to third in his second at bat and then turned on an elevated fastball down the line for a double. Hanson did a good job keeping his hands inside and hits against a firm front side with head behind at contact.
