With the craziness and fun of the playoffs and the high school season beyond us, we will again begin to recap commitments every Friday as the rising seniors in the Class of 2017 begin to make their college decisions. Mason Farman, C, Annandale, 2016
Farman committed to Roanoke College. He has an athletic 5-10 frame. At the plate, he has an athletic stance with a slight crouch. He has no load and a leg kick stride. Farman has an explosive lower half and maintains balance throughout his swing. He is short to the ball and has average bat speed and good extension, posting an exit velocity of 80. He has a good approach and showed the potential for gap power to his pull side. Behind the plate, Farman has a nice wide set-up and a quick release, throwing from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action. His pop times were 2.00-2.18.
