Take a look at seven big risers in the VA/DC 2023 class.
Judson "Jay" Clements RHP / 1B / Menchville, VA / 2023Durable 6-foot-5 frame. Pretty normal effort in the delivery and the pace improved later into the summer. Clements was up to 87 at 17U National Championship with some more room to add. Showed some feel for secondary, landing a slider for strikes.

Kelly Crittenberger SS / 2B / Potomac School, VA / 2023Crittenberger offers a nice combination of physical tools and athleticism. He is a sub-seven runner with arm strength to stay on the left side. It is a simple swing that accelerates through contact and has carry in the middle of the field.
Carl Keenan C / SS / Millbrook , VA / 2023Switch hitter with controlled intent from both sides. Keenan had a huge year for Millbrook and continued to show his ability this summer. Above average arm strength from the infield and a very strong arm behind the plate. Keenan is one of the more versatile, toolsy players left in the VA/DC '23 class.
Robbie Lavey C / 3B / Oakton, VA / 2023George Washington commit that has long shown the offensive upside. There was plenty of pop to the pullside, but has recently shown the hit tool playing more consistently, as well as the ability to use the whole field in approach.
Trey Ludy OF / RHP / Cave Spring , VA / 2023What a day Ludy had at Upperclass State Games. The two-way Cave Spring standout was up to 88 on the mound, 86 from shortstop, swing played in BP and in game, and was a sub-seven runner. Ludy may have had the most complete day out of anyone in attendance. Filled it up on the mound and showed well offensively that day and at Commonwealth Games in front of our staff.
Kenny Michaels LHP / 1B / Hayfield, VA / 2023Michaels had possibly the best outing that our staff saw out of any arm at Southeast Senior Games. The now Wofford commit was up to 87 in that outing and showed exceptional feel for all pitches in his arsenal. Multiple punchouts that day and because of his arsenal of pitches, Michaels has some versatility as to where he can fit in on a staff.
Gunnar Stromberg 3B / RHP / Atlee , VA / 2023Stromberg was electric at thee Unsigned Senior Games in early August. Strong, athletic, and versatile. The Atlee 2023 offers a little bit of everything. For quite some time Stromberg has flashed some tools, but we had yet to see them all put together like he did that day. Up to 88 on the mound, plenty of arm at third, and elite bat speed at the plate gives him a strong set of tools to offer a ton of intrigue for schools.
