VA/DC 2026 Rankings Update: Risers

With a week full of content on 2026's, here are five players that have made a significant jump in the rankings. 
See a full breakdown on the five risers.

Rankings risers:

Mandela Browman OF / RHP / Miller School, VA / 2026

Quite possibly the best set of tools for any outfielder in this VA/DC 2026 class. Lanky frame with lean strength, sub 6.9 runner, big arm (90 mph OF velo), and some sneaky power that he will continue to grow into. Browman can defend in center and should only get better, and quicker, as he matures. Sprays it around the field and is more doubles power, but has flashed a little more at times. Plays hard and handles himself on the field well. Going to be an exciting one to watch. 

 

 

Brady Elrod OF / RHP / Hanover, VA / 2026

The Elrod name has strong bloodlines of competitive athletes from the Richmond area and Brady is the next one in line. 6-foot, 170-pounds of lean strength. Elrod started in the outfield as a freshman for the state champion Hanover Hawks, and by the end of the season, he had made some massive jumps. The physicality began to transfer into the offense, he can defend in the corners (made multiple big plays in the playoffs), and most importantly he competes. The physical tools are evident and as they continue to mature, he should continue to climb. 

 

 

Shota Fogus RHP / OF / Bishop O'Connell, VA / 2026

Compact 5-foot-10 frame with a slow build up delivery and has shown some electric arm speed. Fogus has slightly above normal effort to the delivery, more so with the late intent. His fastball was previously low-mid 80's, but made a small jump this summer, getting up to 88 at the 15U National Championship. Sinker profile to the fastball and gets some hard late sink at times and has shown the ability to miss bats and barrels with the fastball. 

 

 

Oscar Hickey CF / RHP / St. Anne's-Belfield, VA / 2026

6-foot-3, long levers, and plenty of projection left to the STAB outfielder. Medium leg lift, does a nice job staying over the backside on load, and matches plane with the bat path. Quick hands, accelerates through contact, and shows nice feel for the barrel. Power potential to the middle and pull. The frame should hold strength well and as long as the foot speed continues to progress, this could be the best offensive centerfielder in the VA/DC 2026 class. 

 

 

Jack Woda C / SS / Bishop OConnell , VA / 2026

Quite possibly the most complete catcher in this class at this current time. Compact frame with proportional strength, athletic for the position, and above average arm strength that is really accurate on the bag. Intent in the swing and the offense still has room to grow, but has continued to progress and has shown some adjustability. Solid set of tools and the defensive skillset gives him a chance to stick at a premium position.
