With rankings updates comes new faces entering the rankings. The 2025 class will expand by twenty-five players, resulting in a Top 200 class. These five new faces are a mixture of players that have made considerable jumps since our last update, or our staff got a chance to get a quality look(s) on that player.
Here are five new faces that have made their way into the rankings after a strong spring and/or summer.
New Faces:
Evan Amos RHP / PDG Academy, VA / 2025Amos is entering the VA/DC rankings for the first time due to his transfer to PDG Academy in Fredericksburg. Long and lanky 6-foot-5 frame with projection left. The mid-upper 80's fastball comes from a low three-quarter slot with plenty of arm speed. Has shown a mid-upper 70's slider that is a solid secondary offering and maintains arm speed and slot through release. Excited to get a chance to see Amos this fall/spring at PDG.

Caelan Goodwin-Slater RHP / SS / Woodbridge, VA / 2025Athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound two-way player. On the mound he works from a higher three-quarter slot with a quick arm. Low 80's with the fastball and shows some feel for two secondary pitches. At the plate there is some rhythm in the load and has a shorter path to contact with gap to gap tendencies. Defensive versatility in the infield and outfield. Still projection and polish to add to the Woodbridge HS product.

Ross Horne C / OF / Atlantic Shores Christian School , VA / 2025Horne has a compact 5-foot-11 frame with sloped shoulders and proportional strength throughout. Horne is an athletic defender behind the plate with a quick exchange and release, as well as has the athleticism to move to the outfield. Better in game runner than watch runner, showing above average speed on the bases. Doubles power in both gaps and has shown an accurate barrel with above average bat and hand speed. Solid set of tools and continues to make gains in all areas.
|
Zavion Jackson OF / RHP / Henrico, VA / 2025Strong, broad shouldered 6-foot frame. Average to slightly above average runner, corner outfield profile, and strength in the swing. Has shown some power potential to all fields with a heavy barrel that produces loud contact. Jackson has a chance to continue to make gains as he shows the ability to impact the baseball on a consistent basis. Offense first with a strong athletic frame.

Ashton Peshke LHP / OF / Tuscarora, VA / 2025Our staff got out to see Tuscarora a few times this spring. Peshke showed some future promise at the plate, but we did not get a chance to see the Maryland commit on the mound. However, we did see the 6-foot-4 left hander at the Dirtbags Scout Day. Low slot, loose arm, and a tough look from both sides. It was easy low-mid 80's velo and there is a lot of room left for Peshke to grow into more velocity. Feel for a short action breaking ball and a fading changeup. Really like this arm and he has a chance to be a big riser in the future, as he continues to develop.
