It is with great excitement that we release to you today, our first update to the Va/DC Class of 2024 rankings with our Top 50 release. Following today's Top 50 release, we will unveil the Top 250 on Thursday. Throughout this week we have highlighted new faces, risers, and players whose stock has taken a jump in the past few months.
Now today we turn our attention to the Top 50, including the Top 10 list below. To go along with the Top 10, we would like to highlight a few players that have made some moves.
Moving up two places, to the second spot, is Freedom (South Riding) outfielder, Griffin Burkholder. Burkholder had a breakout summer. The West Virginia commit was dinged up a little bit during the spring and just didn't seem to be able to get in a rhythm and flow of things, but he made up for it and some this summer. Burkholder is a three-plus tool player, showing a high end run tool, big arm strength, raw power, bat speed, and flashed some solid bat to ball skills at some big circuit events this summer.

Climbing five spots to number five and taking over the top spot for pitchers is Cayden Suchy (UConn). The left hander has been up to 92, while sitting mostly in the 88-91 range. Lands two secondary pitches for strikes, shows some starter profile, and still has some projection left and polish to add to the arsenal.

The biggest riser in the Top 50 is ODU commit, Tanner Schaedel. The Cape Henry standout had a monster spring, racked up every award imaginable, and continued his torrid pace through the summer. Two-way player with a solid combination of bat to ball and some sneaky power that he gets to within his swing. Schaedel climbs from #46 to moving inside of the Top 20.
