Here is a quick look back at some of the top uncommitted 2017s from the Northern Virginia Open ID in September.

Jon Alderman (OF, Chantilly)
Alderman has an athletic 5-8 frame and decent speed, running a 6.93 60. At the plate, Alderman has an athletic stance with a slight crouch and a short load back with a leg kick stride. He has an explosive lower half and a longer swing path with extension through the ball. He had an exit velocity of 76. He maintains balance throughout his swing and has average bat speed and with a pull stroke. In the field, Alderman throws from a three-quarters arm slot and has a decent exchange and release. He had a position velocity of 73.

Antonio Buckley (LHP, Westfield)
Buckley is an athletic lefty who throws primarily from a low three-quarters arm slot. He has a smooth drop and drive delivery and a short, quick arm that generates easy velocity. His shoulders are online and level as he strides out to a square landing, finishing in an athletic position. His fastball was 72-76 on the day and 76-78 a month later at the Fall Prospect Games. Buckley’s secondary pitches were outstanding, as he has the ability to throw a curveball and a slider that have different shapes and velocity from the same arm slot. The curveball ran 62-64 with sharp 1/7 break and the slider ran 67-68 with sharp 2/8 break. Buckley also threw a good changeup that had sinking action, good armspeed, and ran 67-70. Buckley had good command of his secondary pitches and has a lot of pitchability.

James Delaney (MIF, Annandale)
Delaney hit from a balanced, athletic stance with a smooth load back and a controlled stride that stays on line. He had a slight arm bar on initial move to the ball that makes him long at times. His lower half explodes to the ball and he had a bat exit velocity of 83mph. Delaney showed a good approach to the round and a level swing path with good extension. He is a line drive hitter with pull power. In the field, Delaney threw from a high three-quarters arm slot with a quick arm action some accuracy. His positional velocity was 75mph.  He had average hands and his footwork did not stay fluid at times. Delaney had quick, clean exchanges and played through the ball well when his feet kept moving.

Elias Gibson (C, Hayfield)
Gibson has an athletic 5-10 frame and hits from the left side. He has a crouched stance and loads up and back during his leg kick stride. He has good balance throughout his swing and an explosive lower half. He has a longer swing path and gets good extension through the ball with a pull approach. His exit velocity was 78. Behind the plate, Gibson throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action. He reaches for the ball but then has a quick release and gains ground towards his target. His throws were fairly accurate and he posted pop times between 2.22 and 2.28 and had a positional velocity of 69. Gibson also has decent speed, running a 7.25 60 yard dash.

Christian Pitura (SS, Chantilly)
Pitura hit from balanced stance that stood slightly open. He had a smooth load back with a controlled stride that got back on line. He had a good lower half turn to the ball and a bat exit velocity of 81mph. Pitura loses his top hand on approach to the ball and his bat path was long at times. He got good extension through the ball and is a line drive hitter with gap power. In the field, Pitura threw from a high three-quarters arm slot with a quick arm action and some accuracy. He had average hands with good footwork and played through the ball with quick, clean exchanges. Pitura brings speed, running a 6.97 60.

Graeme Wright (3B/RHP, Paul VI Catholic)
Wright has a lanky, athletic frame and a smooth drop and drive delivery, throwing from a high three-quarters arm slot. He has a long, loose arm action and a quick arm that generates velocity with some effort. His shoulders are down and closed as he strides out on line to a slightly open landing. His fastball has heavy run and was 80-82 with good downward plane. His curveball was good and had late, sharp, 12/6 break, sitting 69-71. He also threw a sinking changeup with great armspeed that ran 75-78. Offensively, Wright hit from a slightly crouched stance that stood open. He had a smooth load back with a toe tap stride that gets back on line. He showed good rhythm in his hands and his lower half got stiff at times. He had a bat exit velocity of 77 mph and comes around the ball at times. He is a line drive hitter with potential pull power. In the field, Wright threw from a three-quarters arm slot with a long, loose arm action. His throws had accuracy and he had a positional velocity of 80 mph. Wright showed average hands with clean footwork and plays through the ball with clean exchanges.
