Three Combine in Shutout for Flint Hill

Flint Hill’s 2020 LHP Joey Thomas, 2019 RHP Alexander Walsh (Lafayette commit) and 2020 RHP Brendan Albrittain combined for a five inning 1-hit shutout over St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (SSSA). Thomas started the game and pitched one inning, 0 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Walsh then pitched three innings allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 3 walks and 1 strikeout. Albrittain closed a 1-2-3 fifth inning.  SSSA’s lone hit was a single up the middle by 2020 Jake Rothenberg, who was 1-for-1 with a walk.

Flint Hill jumped on SSSA’s starter, 2020 RHP David Weissman, for 5 unearned runs in the first inning. Two errors, 2 walks, a HBP, a single by 2021 George Rizzo and a 2 RBI single by 2022 Jason Mendler did the damage in the first.

In the third inning, 3 errors and another single by Rizzo led to 2 runs. In the fourth inning, an Albrittain single, Walsh double, a 2020 Thomas Freireic single, 2 walks and an error led to 3 more runs.
