As the summer comes to a close, we take a look back at some of the pitchers who stood out at the Top Prospect North and South Showcases from late June.
2016 Arms that stood out ...
Ryan Billy, RHP, C.D. Hylton, 2016
Billy has an athletic frame and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot. His fastball sat 80-82 in June, touching 83, with heavy sink. He also threw a sharp, late-breaking 11/5 curveball that ran 73-77. Billy’s changeup was down and was thrown with decent armspeed and fading action, running 65-67. Billy has a lot of deception in his delivery and knows how to change speeds to keep hitters off balance. He also pounds the strike zone with all of his pitches.
