We will have a full breakdown of the Top Prospect North Showcase in the coming weeks, here are a few players who stood above the rest at the showcase:
Battlefield’s Brandon Austin showed very good bat speed and smooth actions as a third baseman. He has easy home run power to his pull side and gap power to all fields.
Tuscarora 2018 outfielder Parker Bednoski showed decent speed and an above average arm from his position with a lot of potential upside.
Washington & Lee utility player Chris Brady showed his versatility with the ability to play multiple positions around the field. He had a good arm from the outfield with easy doubles power and the potential for more.
Osbourn 2017 outfielder Dylan Flint showed an above average arm and a good doubles swing to go with a tall, projectable frame and sub 7 speed.
Kettle Run 2017 corner infielder and pitcher Noah Goins showed power at the plate and velocity on the mound to go with a projectable frame that suggests he is just beginning to tap into what he has in store.
Patriot 2018 catcher Brian Rall showed his usual quick release with a 2.00 pop time, but he also showed a stronger arm than in the past and a short bat path with improved bat speed and power potential.
Kettle Run 2017 catcher Tyler Shaffer showed decent speed for a catcher, going under 7.1 with his 60 and while also putting up a solid pop time and showing doubles power.
McLean 2017 righthander Jack Slade threw from a low arm slot with a consistent low-80s fastball and the ability to reach the mid-80s. Slade showed good feel of two off-speed pitches and has good pitchability.
Collegiate School’s Jack Sroba had a good line drive swing as well as 6.8 speed and good hands in the middle infield. He has all the makings of a middle infielder who can hit for high average and use his speed when on the bases.
