On Saturday February 17th PBR Virginia/DC will host the Preseason All-State at the Virginia Sports Complex facility in Ruther Glen, VA. The biggest event prior to the high school season in Virginia will feature some of the top players and prospects around the commonwealth and put them all on one stage in front of the PBR scouting staff. As with all PBR events, all players will get their performance videoed and professionally edited to update or start their PBR Profile. Today we spotlight one of the players on the roster for the event.

6.27.17: Willard is 5-11 and has a lankier athletic frame, he hits from the left side with an athletic stance. Short leg kick stride, smooth load back with a slight wrap, good rhythm to his swing. Some hip explosion, good balance during his swing. Gets to the ball quickly, level swing, gets uphill a bit to pull side, line drive hitter with some gap power potential, exit velocity was 84. Good approach, used whole field. In the outfield, good feet, plays the ball off to a side, above average hands. Clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a loose arm action, outfield velocity was 80. Home to first time was 4.32. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, longer arm action that is free, throws with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands slightly closed, falls off after finish. Fastball was 77-78 with plane and a bit of sink. Change-up was 68 with some armspeed and sinking action. Curveball was 66-70 with armspeed and late 11/5 break.
6.13.17: Willard has a lanky frame. He ran a 7.19 60 yard dash. Hits from the left side from a balanced stance that is more upright. Big leg kick stride, slight load back with a wrap, good rhythm to his swing. Some hip explosion and balance during his swing. Works slightly uphill through the ball and showed good extension with a bit of a pull approach, exit velocity was 77. In the outfield, gets behind the ball, fields with average hands and has a clean exchange. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a longer arm action, outfield velocity was 77. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a longer arm action and some effort. Shoulders are uphill and slightly closed, lands square with an athletic finish. Fastball was 74-76, touching 77, with some boring action to it. Change-up had some armspeed and was 70-73 with some fading action. Curveball was 65-68 with gradual 11/5 break.
