On Saturday, February 22, over 60 players from all areas of Virginia and DC made their way to Coastal Sports Center in Norfolk, VA to take part in Session III of the 2020 Preseason All-State. It was an outstanding event with a ton of talent on display, here are some quick notes on a few hitters who really caught our staff's eye with their performance on Saturday. This was a loaded event, check the PBR VA/DC Podcast for our staff discussion of the event, as well as full analysis of all of all players in the coming weeks.

Peter Benavides C / OF / Battlefield, VA / 2020

Displayed arm strength behind the plate and was accurate around the bag. At the plate had consistent hard contact and displayed doubles power in the swing.

Trey Christman SS / 3B / Walsingham Academy , VA / 2023

6-foot-3 athletic frame. Room to add strength onto the already strong frame. Loud rounds of BP, pull side tendency, and adequate defender that can contribute at either corner.

M. Tyler Gorbett C / RHP / Menchville, VA / 2022

Solid defender in the infield and behind the plate, some positional versatility, and showed some feel for the barrel with doubles power. Has some two way potential.

Jaden Greenidge SS / 3B / Monacan, VA / 2022

Some of the loudest BP on the day. Worked gap to gap throughout with explosive actions and shower power potential. Some positional versatility with arm strength from outfield and infield.

Luke Hanson SS / RHP / Lafayette, VA / 2022

Easy to see why Hanson is a UVA commit. Soft hands in the infield, plenty of arm strength to play the left side, and easy power at the plate. Is an elite athlete with two way potential.

Tucker Love SS / RHP / Tabb, VA / 2022

Athletic setup at the plate and showed consistent line drives with some pull side tendency. Exit velocity was 86 mph. Also, had one of the better defensive showings on the day.

James McGrady SS / 2B / Greenbrier Christian Academy, VA / 2021

Athletic frame that has continued to add strength. Short compact swing with gap to gap approach. Fluid defender in the infield with arm strength across.

Cannon Peebles C / RHP / Hanover, VA / 2022

Compact athletic frame for the ODU commit. Stayed inside the ball well and worked gap to gap. Plus arm and premium defender behind the plate, with positional velocity of 81 mph.

Aidan Pinto OF / Ocean Lakes, VA / 2021

Had one of the more impressive all around days. Turned out two sub 6.7 60 times, with 6.6 being his best. Loud contact at the plate, ball jumped off the bat, and has elite speed to stretch some extra bases.

Kenneth Schaedel OF / 3B / Cape Henry, VA / 2022

Impressive physical frame that has plenty of athleticism to it. Big power potential in the swing, exit velocity was 98 mph, and is a middle of the order type of bat. Plenty of arm strength from the outfield with a 87 mph positional velocity.

Camrin "CC" Sturgeon 1B / 3B / Kecoughtan , VA / 2021

Impressive rounds of BP on the day. Aggressive swings that look to do damage. Raw power potential built into a physical athletic frame.

Myles Webb OF / RHP / Granby, VA / 2020

The Randolph-Macon commit had a strong showing. Loud contact, stayed on through extension, and posted an 89 mph exit velocity. Top velocity from the outfield at 93 mph and ran a 6.82 60.

Austin Younce C / OF / Greenbrier Christian, VA / 2021

One of the best uncommitted players in the state did not disappoint. Behind the plate Younce had pin point throws with solid arm strength. Younce has continued to add strength to the frame and it shows in the swing. Used the whole field during BP, advanced feel for barrel, and 93 mph exit velocity.
