On Saturday, players took part in the NOVA Fall Review, held at Patriot High School in Prince William County. Three classes were represented at the event, and while our detailed analysis will be completed in the coming weeks, here are some quick-hitter takeaways:

Blake Fisher SS / RHP / Highland, VA / 2020

We have seen Fisher in game action at the Commonwealth Games and at Highland so far this year, but it was good to see him in a showcase setting as well. He should increased arm strength, getting up to 87 in the outfield and touching 84 on the mound. His speed has improved as well, running 6.98. Still has a lot of upside and will continue being an interesting prospect to follow.

Matthew Ford C / 2B / Oakton, VA / 2020

Ford is an athletic catcher who is versatile and showed well in the outfield and on the infield as well. Some strength at the plate with an exit velocity of 85 and his pop times were 2.06-2.19 with some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.18 as well making him a nice all-around player to watch next spring.

Mickey Haynes SS / OF / Brentsville District , VA / 2021

Haynes is still young but he showed some great actions during his day and has a ton of potential as he continues to grow and fill out. As he adds strength this winter, he has a chance to deliver an impact for Brentsville next spring and take a big jump, definitely a player to keep an eye on.

Zach Mazur SS / 3B / Stone Bridge, VA / 2021

Mazur is like Haynes in that he is still younger and showed good actions at the event. Has a little more strength right now with an infield velocity of 75 and an exit velocity of 84, but he still has a ton of projection left as he continues to grow and get stronger.

Phaly Moravek SS / 2B / Tuscarora, VA / 2020

Moravek continued what has been a strong 2018 for him. He continues to develop and add strength as his numbers all increased from previous times we had seen him. He is a true switch hitter with a short swing and barrel ability from both sides of the plate. Will be exciting to see where he is after another offseason in the weight room.

Cameron Wayt OF / Broad Run, VA / 2019

Wayt had a spectacular day. The biggest takeaway is that he is strong and his strength plays. Exit velocity was 88 and he put a few balls out during his BP round. Also has speed running a 6.87 on his 60 yard dash.
