Deep Run Tournament Quick Hits: Matoaca

This freshman had a big coming out party on the varsity level at the Deep Run tournament. Physical bat that was seeing it well and was arguably the most consistent offensive piece for the Warriors. Will be a guy to keep an eye on going forward.

Lucas Edwards OF / C / Matoaca, VA / 2025

Compact frame. Short compact swing and did a nice job handling velo up in the zone with his short stroke.

Seth Harrison RHP / C / Matoaca, VA / 2025

Harrison has cleaned up the frame a bit, especially in the upper body. Solid defender at third, accurate arm across, and solid arm strength for his age/class.

Jacob Lee C / RHP / Matoaca, VA / 2024

I thought Lee had a strong tournament. While he did not put up amazing offensive numbers at the plate, Lee was able to effect the game in a variety of ways. Active and accurate thrower with carry on throws. Vocal leader, plays with energy, and it is easy to see some the leadership skills he possesses. At the plate he showed flashes of patience and some zone discipline, working counts, and battling at bats.
