Patriot rallied in the sixth to tie the game on an Addison Walker double, but Brett Norwood walked the game off with an infield single to send the Chargers to the State Tournament for the third year in a row. Jared DiCesare (George Mason) earned the win in relief of starter Jake Pasquale, who took a line drive off of his head in the third inning.
6A South Quarterfinals
Ocean Lakes 1, No. 4 Grassfield 0
Senior Corey Hinds threw a four hit shutout and struck out five. Nate Clements had an RBI double in the sixth, driving in the lone run of the game.
Western Branch 9, No. 17 First Colonial 2
Rufus Hurdle hit a three run home run and Corey Klak (Old Dominion) threw a complete game with eight strikeouts. Connor Rhem was 3-4.
C.D. Hylton 3, Manchester 0
Senior Fox Semones (James Madison) threw a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts. Junior catcher Richard Ortiz had a double and a home run with two RBIs.
5A South Quarterfinals
Nansemond River 5, No. 12 Hickory 3
Senior Michael Blanchard (Old Dominion) threw the first seven innings, allowing 1 run and striking out six as the Warriors won the game in the eighth. Johnny Mayer hit a home run. Junior Hunter Gregory (Old Dominion) threw six and two-thirds innings of one run ball for the Hawks.
Indian River 3, No. 21 Menchville 1
Senior John Fuqua (VMI) struck out eight in a complete game, allowing just four hits. Jamie Spainhour had two hits and an RBI.
4A East Quarterfinals
No. 6 Jamestown 7, Wilson 0
Evan Lowery (Navy) and Matt Lansford had two RBIs each in the win.
No. 2 Hanover 2, Louisa 0
Senior Grey Lyttle (High Point) earned the win with five innings on the mound and hit a home run.
Dinwiddie 5, King George 1
Matt Culbreath went 2-4 with a run scored for Dinwiddie.

Millbrook 3, Loudoun Valley 2
Millbrook won the continuation of Monday’s game when Gavin West drove in Trent Burgreen (Shepherd) in the eighth.

Sophomore Austin Gault had a walk-off single in the ninth.
Colonial Heights 7, Tabb 5
Senior Noah Murdock (Virginia) had the game-winning hit in the tenth inning. Murdock threw the first eight innings and ended the game 3-4 with three RBIs.

Rustburg 6, Western Albemarle 1
Drew Calohan hit a three-run home run in the fifth to ice the game.

Senior Brenan Hanifee (East Carolina) threw a one-hit shutout with ten strikeouts.
