Prep Baseball Report of NC was on hand on June 11th for a PBR Scout Day with the Carolina Rockies.  Rockies players went through a pro-style workout with the pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen.  Seventy-Four players from the organization took part in the day with 34 arms throwing controlled bullpens.

By The Numbers:

• 74 players from the Carolina Rockies took part in the workout
• 2021 - 2023 grad years were represented
• 6 hitters turned in an exit velocity of 90mph or higher off the tee
• 16 hitters were 85mph or higher in their exit velocity testing
• 6 catchers produced POP Times of 2.10 or better
• 10 players ran 7.30 or better in the laser timed 60
• 92 was the top bolt on the mound, coming from an uncommitted 2021
• 6 arms threw 85mph or higher in the bullpen sessions

Tyson Adams OF / OF / West Forsyth , NC / 2023 Positional Profile: OF. Body: 6/1, 140 pounds. Lanky frame, room for growth ahead. Defense:   Plays through the ball, average hands, catches ball off left foot, clean exchanges. Arm: R. OF - 80 mph. Medium arm stroke, high 3/4 slot with some quickness, accurate with some carry. Hit: RHH. Balanced, hands start at back shoulder, vertical barrel. Loads with a toe tap, short stride, little barrel movement. Mostly level barrel path, wokrs middle to pull side, long at times, average barrel feel. Power: 79 mph exit velocity from the tee.  Average bat speed. Run: 6.99 runner in the 60.

 

 

Jake Dulski OF / C / Christ the King, NC / 2023 Positional Profile: OF. Body: 6/2, 150 pounds. Thin, lanky frame. Defense:  Plays through the ball, relaxed hands, catches ball off left foot, clean exchanges. Arm: R. OF - 72 mph. Accurate, long arm action, 3/4 slot. Hit: LHH. Tall, narrow, open base, hands above back shoulder. Smooth load, short stride, quiet barrel. Fluid and balanced, line drive approach, level swing, uses the whole field. better than average barrel feel. Power: 79 mph exit velocity from the tee.  Average to above average bat speed. Run: 7.5 runner in the 60.

 

 

Jalen Gibbs OF / 1B / Charlotte Christian, NC / 2021 Positional Profile: OF/1B. Body: 5/10, 173 pounds. Athletic frame. Defense:   Plays through the ball, relaxed hands catching the ball off his right foot, clean transitions. Arm: L. OF - 73 mph. Accurate, long arm action, over the top slot. Hit: LHH. Relaxed, even base, barrel starts flat on back shoulder. Smooth load, average stride, hands cock creating some bat angle. Short compact swing, quckness to his hands, barrel stays through the ball, works gap to gap with above average barrel awareness. Power: 90 mph exit velocity from the tee.  Has strength off the barrel with above average bat speed. Run: 7.28 runner in the 60.
