SEASON OUTLOOK
Osbourn Park had a very good 2015 season that saw the team capture it’s first-ever Conference Championship in program history with its win over top-seeded Patriot. The Yellowjackets did not lose a lot to graduation, but the players they lost had a significant impact as Nick Atkinson (OF, VCU) supplied game-changing speed at the top of the lineup and covered a ton of ground in centerfield and Riley Lane had some big-time performances on the mound down the stretch. The 2016 Yellowjackets will be very deep on the mound with a rotation that will be led by Whitten and Payne with a host other effective arms behind them. The team will also be very athletic around the diamond and should again catch a lot of balls and have speed throughout their lineup. Osbourn Park will be a younger team in 2016 but the Yellowjackets have the talent and depth to again challenge Patriot and Battlefield for the top spot in the Cedar Run Conference and be dangerous in the 6A North tournament.
