SEASON OUTLOOK
Marshall is coming off of an outstanding 2015 season that saw the Statesmen win their Conference and advance to the 5A Northern Region and 5A State Title games, only to finish as the runner-up in both games to Stone Bridge. The 2016 Statesmen will again be a very good team as they bring back the bulk of their pitching staff, which will be led by Johel and Cintron. Han and Guenther will be the key pieces in a lineup that has to replace a handful of regular starters with talented, but inexperienced, youth. Marshall has plenty of speed and will have a strong defense behind its good pitching staff. Marshall is off to a 3-0 start on the young season and will again be one of the stronger teams in 5A North and should challenge Stone Bridge again in the postseason.
