Outlook:
West Springfield is coming off of an outstanding 2014 season that saw them reach the 6A North semifinals. While they lost some key players to graduation, the 2015 Spartans will be strong again as they do bring back the bulk of their lineup and a decent portion of last year’s pitching staff. The lineup will be led by Zach Shugart (OF/CIF/RHP, 2015), Louis Perez (OF/LHP, 2015), Adham Nabhan (OF, 2015), Brad Quinter (MIF, 2015), and Matt Stallings (C/OF, 2016). The pitching staff will be led by Jacob Kisner (RHP/MIF, 2016) along with Shugart and Perez. The Spartans are returning some quality bats and will have a strong and experienced outfield defense. If they can replace the pitching depth that they lost and be solid defensively up the middle, West Springfield should have a strong season in the Patriot Conference and return to the 6A North playoffs.
