Outlook:
McLean is coming off of a great 2014 season that saw them squeak into the 6A Northern Region tournament as the 4^th seed from their conference, then proceed to go on the road and knock of Oakton, Battlefield, and James Madison to finish as the 6A Northern Region runners-up and advance to the State Tournament. The Highlanders lost their top two arms from that run to graduation, including lefty Joey Sullivan (Virginia Tech), but bring back almost their entire lineup. The lineup will be led this spring by Caleb Beatty (C, 2015), Conor Grammes (IF, 2016), and Jon Clines (IF/P, 2016). The pitching staff will be young, but talented, highlighted by Will Liverpool (RHP/IF, 2017). The Highlanders will have a deep lineup and be strong defensively. If they can get consistent pitching, McLean will look very much like the team that tore through the playoffs this spring and will be among the favorites in the Liberty Conference and a tough out in the 6A Northern Region tournament.
