Outlook:
Hanover is coming off of another stellar season that saw them win their second straight Virginia State Championship, this time claiming the 2014 4A crown after winning the AAA crown in 2013. The Hawks will have to replace their staff ace, Derek Casey (UVA), who never lost a game in his high school career, but there is plenty of talent returning to the 2015 Hanover roster. The Hawks rotation will be its backbone, led by returners Grey Lyttle (RHP, 2016), John Gregory (1B/LHP, 2016), Jacob Weis (LHP, 2016), and newcomer Jack Dagrum (RHP, 2018). Hanover’s lineup will be led by Cayman Richardson (MIF, 2016), Hayden Moore (OF/RHP, 2016), Elliot Sledd (OF, 2015), and Bradley Didlake (C, 2015). The Hawks lost some important players, but are still loaded with talent as a new spring dawns. Hanover is again the favorite to win the Capital Conference and the 4A South Region, and the Hawks have the talent to dogpile for a third year in a row this June.
