Outlook:
Freedom (South Riding) is coming off of an up and down 2014 season that saw them struggle early, then persevere and get hot down the stretch as they advanced to the 5A State Tournament before their season ended in the semifinals. The 2015 Eagles will again be a quality team as they look to build off of that late season run. The offense will be led by Garrett St. Laurent (C, 2015) and Michael Zubovich (IF/RHP, 2016). The pitching staff will be led by Ryan Pressgrave (LHP, 2015) and Will Kirwan (RHP, 2015). The Eagles are a blue collar squad and experienced. If they can get production from a new outfield and build off of last year’s success, Freedom will again be a dangerous team in the 5A North tournament and could make a run at their third State Tournament trip in four years.
