Outlook:
The Covenant School is coming off of a solid 2014 season that saw them finish third in the Virginia Independent Conference and reach the Conference Tournament semifinals before their season came to an end. The Eagles did not lose much to graduation, and have added a number of talented transfers to their 2015 squad. The offense will be led by Gus Rose (C, 2015) and newcomers Jake Haney (MIF/RHP, 2017) and Luke Burton (MIF/RHP, 2017). The pitching staff will be very deep and will be led by Matt Shobe (LHP/1B, 2016), Will Moore (RHP/MIF, 2017), and Trent Miller (RHP/CIF/OF, 2017). The Eagles will have a young, talented, versatile core highlighted by a pitching staff with depth and talent that few in Virginia can match. If The Covenant School can fit their new pieces in quickly and get production from their youngsters, they will be a dangerous team in the VIC this spring and could return to the VISAA Division II Tournament.
