Outlook:
Chantilly is coming off an outstanding season that saw them win the 6A Northern Region and finish the season as the 6A State Runner-up. The 2015 Chargers lost a significant chunk of their core of position players, especially Mike Sciorra (James Madison) and ace Eason Recto (Cornell). Despite those losses, the Chargers will again be a talented team and the lineup will be led this spring by Grant Bain (C, 2015), Andrew Kim (OF, 2015), Jared DiCesare (CIF/RHP, 2016), and Matt Padeway (C/CIF, 2016). The pitching staff will be led by Matt Hogle (RHP, 2015) and Forest Wagner (LHP/OF, 2016). The Chargers will have a solid and deep lineup again this spring as well as a strong defense. If they can find some consistent power and the pitching staff can replace the work done by Recto last spring, Chantilly will be a dangerous team in the deep Concord Conference and will have a chance to defend their 6A North crown.
