TOP 5 (DEEP DIVE)
1. 2025 SS Kayson Cunningham (SA Johnson HS) - Texas Commit
Built in the mold of fellow Texan, and a 2022 first-round pick, Jett Williams (Mets), Cunningham has dominated the national circuit, especially when facing premium arms. Seeming to be fueled by any and all doubters, the shorter-stature, 5-foot-9, 170-pounder routinely has exceeded expectations both at the plate and on defense. A left-handed hitter with some sneaky thunder in the barrel, Cunningham generates exciting quickness with a tight, direct path before exploding out of the box while running angry. Though some will say the profile tells of a second baseman's future, the San Antonio native holds exceptional glove-to-hand capability with a quick release and strong arm that outshines the majority of his peers at the shortstop position, and it would be wise to not (ever) count him out.
2. 2025 C Omar Serna (Lutheran South Academy) - LSU Commit
The LSU recruit has continued to punish baseballs when the Prep Baseball staff is in attendance. At 6 '2 225, he has an imposing presence in the box. He has shown some of the best in game power in the country at some of the biggest stages. He can leave the yard to all fields and shows the ability to shorten up with 2 strikes and use the big part of the field. He has a plus arm behind the plate that can limit a run game. The Houston product continues to be one of the backstops in the country.
4. 2025 SS Nico Partida (Pearland HS) - Texas A&M Commit
Partida has shown himself to not only one of the best players in the country, but also one of the best competitors. He has competed at the highest levels and dominated at every stop. If it was for his High School team or USA, Partida is a winner. He has a mid 90's fastball that he can touch higher with. He has a hard breaking ball that shows quality depth and can be a true swing and miss pitch. Offensively, Partida had a big year at Pearland and showed off more power. He plays a solid short with the obvious big arm. The Future Aggie is one of the best winners in the country.
5. 2025 RHP Marcos Paz (Hebron HS) - LSU Commit
Usually when an arm is sidelined with an injury they tend to take a pretty big dip in rankings, but that is how convicted we are in the stuff and the competitiveness that Paz displays.. When healthy, Paz shows elite pitch ability with a slow heartbeat to go with plus stuff. He features a mid 90's heater he can sink and throw at the top of the zone. His breaker has spin north of 3,000 rpm's with true s/m potential. But my favorite pitch of his has always been the change. He throws it with supreme confidence and he throws it to any batter in any count. He shows the ability to kill spin and really sink it. The future LSU Tiger has been a blast to watch throughout his HS career.
