DENISON, TX - On Thursday, October 19th, we were in attendance for the Grayson College Scout Day. We watched BP, in and out, followed by a scrimmage. Today, Max Semler takes a look at the stand outs from the day.

FR. LHP Donald Lent - 6'2 180lb L/L

LHP showing solid stuff. FB 87-88 showing arm side tail/sink. Slider flashes quality action. Limited use CB at 77 with solid action present. 21 year old freshman shows confidence on the mound. Chance to start, some effort to delivery, head puller. Fringe avg command/control this outing in 1 IP.

SO. RHP Tyler Sudderth - 5'11 205lb R/R

Reliever type stuff. Throws from lower slot. FB 85-87 quality action, tail/sink, ability to show action to both sides of plate. Sweepy/slurvy type action pitch showing avg action at times. Nice feel to pitch present. 

2023 Spent season at Tarleton State with limited action on mound. Missed a year with surgery prior to last year.

SO. RHP Trevor Tranberg - 6'4 210lb R/R

Good physical build. Versatility present on the mound. Repeats delivery and arm action. FB 86-89 with some tail, occasional tail/sink. Blended breaking ball he calls slider with solid action, up to 2800 spin rate. Quality change with deception. Solid strike thrower with stuff, command within zone must improve, especially FB. Chance to start. 

2023 1-1 with 22 IP, 20 H’s, 24 K’s, 8 BB’s.

SO. RHP Clay Kemp - 6'6 235lb R/R

Big body, impressive looking on the mound. FB 88-90 showing occ sink. Slider shows quality action, 76-78. Limited use change at 83. Aggressive, fits reliever role.

2023 worked mainly from pen, earning 4 saves in 12 app. 24 IP, 27 H’s, 12 BB’s, 18 K’s.

SO. RHP Grady Moore - 6'1 195lb R/R

Solid delivery and arm action. FB 90-92, around zone. Shows tail/sink to FB, solid action. Shows feel for blended breaking ball. Nice action. Change shows fade with deception. Role versatility present.

2023 R Fr 5-2 with save. 38 IP, 33 Hits. BB’s were a concern in 2023. This 1 inning look was solid strike thrower, with no BB’s. 

SO. C Kain Sanchez - 5'7 175lb S/R

Plus make up. Battles at plate with good AB’s. 3 hits on this day, showing ability to handle bat, use all fields. Contact guy. Defensively shows raw avg arm strength. Solid receiver, handles staff well, takes charge behind plate. Vocal. 

2023 .250 BA with 7 2B’s

SO. INF Chase Womack 6'1 215lb S/R

Switch hitter showing solid approach to hit, patience present this day. LH more pull approach showing some pull side power. RH nice job of staying in middle of field. Couple of BB’s on the day with hard hit 2B to RCF. Defensively shows solid actions with avg arm strength. Corner guy
