With the summer travel season coming to an end, the state of Texas still has a ton of uncommitted talent to choose from in the 2018 class. Here are four catchers that are still available.

HECTOR GONZALEZ

C / 3B / CARROLL, TX / 2018

5-foot-10, 190-pound, strong frame. The right-handed hitter starts from an open stance with relaxed hands and square shoulders. Controlled leg-kick with relaxed easy rhythm, hands are back and relaxed at footstrike. Loose, repeatable swing, short path keeps barrel in zone a long time. Line-drive approach during batting practice with ball flight from gap to gap. Behind the plate, Gonzalez has simple, quick footwork with a clean, quick, easy exchange. Throws from a natural catcher's slot with elbow dominant arm action at 73 mph. Pop times sat mostly 2.0-2.11, but flashed one at 1.95, and two others at 2.26 and 2.27. All-in-all, Gonzalez repeats a simple swing and easy throwing mechanics with feel and has a strong frame that should transition well to the collegiate level.
