A number of position guys stood out, including SS/LHH Colson Cegielski (Ft. Bend Clements) who looks the part with a physical, athletic frame in the left-handed batters box. He squared up a couple of hard ground balls but it looks like there is more in the tank. Colson Sledge (A&M Consolidated) has ultra quick hands, he doubled to centerfield and scorched on an RBI single to left field. C Wade Tittle has a strong arm solid carry behind the plate. OF Pryce Powell is a three sport athlete at Katy Tompkins HS. The right-handed hitter was not getting cheated at the plate today. After staying in his legs and hammering a double off the left field wall, Powell hit two towering balls down the left field line in consecutive pitches (both were foul). On the third pitch of the at-bat he punched a single up the middle. High-waisted, athletic frame. Bryce Palumbo was flying around the bases on an inside the park home run, and slid in safe with a nifty head first dive to avoid the tag. SS Evan Cameron had two really competitive at-bats, an RBI single to left field on a two-strike FB that he pulled his hands inside of, and a walk where he fouled off multiple 90 mph fastballs. OF Kobe Keuchel turned around a left-on-left fastball for a home run to right-centerfield.
RHP Jared Matheson (Lake Creek HS) was 90-91, topped out at 92 once, and spun a 77-78 mph slider. Long-limbed, wiry frame with room to fill out.
