TX Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 9

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
2024 1B/RHP Timothy Haynes - Lubbock Cooper - Uncommitted
Haynes was swinging a hot bat last week for the Pirates. in eight at bats, he tallied six hits including a double and a home run. The uncommitted junior racked up ten RBI on those six hits, and also scored four himself. Haynes hopped on the mound as well and went six innings and struck out eight along the way.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
2023 C/RHP Luke Regas - Ennis - Northeast Texas CC
The two-way senior was lights out on the mound this past week. The NTCC commit was perfect for the Lions on 4/21. Regas threw a perfect game for the lions (6 IP), striking out fifteen of the eighteen batters faced, including twelve in a row on 77 pitches. He had a good week at the plate as well, collecting a coupe extra base hits and six RBI.
