Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. 

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

2024 SS/RHP Cort Lowry - Franklin High School 

Lowry went on a tear last week for Franklin. The uncommitted junior had eight hits in nine at-bats. This included 3 home runs, a double and twelve RBI. He also scored six runs, stole four bags and drew three walks. Lowry also got on the mound and struck out ten over five innings. Lowry has had a good season so far, with these stats bringing his season totals to .619 BA, 6 HR, 11 2B, 42 RBI. 

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

2024 RHP Casan Evans - St. Pius X - LSU Commit 

Evans has the ability to do dominate every time he toes the rubber. The LSU commit did exactly that last week throwing a no-hitter with seventeen strikeouts. Evans has electric arm talent and is an athletic mover down the mound.
