2018 UIL Team Preview: Kennedale
December 18, 2017
The Texas high school season kicks off on February 19, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 26, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.
Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.
We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. If you don’t see your team’s season preview make sure your head coach fills out his Preseason Questionnaire.

SEASON PREVIEW
Coach Paul Trantham has high expectations for the 2018 season after a successful 2017 campaign. The Wildcats took home the conference title and return a core group of players who have earned a plethora of individual awards. 2017 District MVP RHP/SS Bryce Hackett, First Team All-District RHP/3B Jared Taylor, and two-time All-District 2B/RHP Austin Crabtree will lead the pitching staff in addition to providing their services in the field. OF Aaron Herrera, two-time First Team All-District selection, and 1B Reid Sanez, First Team All-District, will be relied upon to provide the offense in addition to the aforementioned players. One youngester to keep an eye on is OF JD Pagett, 2017 District Newcomer of the Year. Pagett led the Wildcats in stolen bases last season with 25.
