SEASON PREVIEW

San Antonio Reagan returns a balanced, veteran club from a team that won 31 games and played for the State Championship a year ago. The Rattlers have six D1 commitments, five All-District players, and one All-State player back. 2018 LHP Cal Carver will headline the pitching staff. The Wichita State recruit was 13-3 last season with a 2.28 ERA. 2018 RHP Josh Buske was selected 2nd Team All-District after going 7-3 with a 2.08 ERA. Add in young phenom 2020 SS/RHP Travis Sthele, a Texas recruit that is ranked No. 10 in the TX 2020 Class, No. 53 Overall, and you have three arms that can lead the Rattlers through district.

The lineup is loaded with veteran talent, including 2018 OF Porter Brown. The TCU commit hit .367 with 26 RBI, scored 33 runs and was 26-fot-26 in stolen bases last year. 2018 3B Hilton Brown, a Northwestern State commit, hit .300 last season with 20 RBI and 10 doubles. 2018 Josh Killeen is an athletic catcher that hit .322 with 30 RBI in 2017. 2018 OF Seth Morrow is a strong left-handed hitter that hit .342 last year with 30 RBI. 2019 Cal Martin is a projectable hitter that is still uncommitted, and put up solid numbers as a sophomore last year. Look for 2020 SS/RHP Travis Sthele to have an impact in the lineup as well. The sophomore can play anywhere on the infield and has the athleticism to start at shortstop.

One things for sure, this team already knows how to win. With the talent they have returning, and the fact that they came up just short in 2017, they could have all the ingredients to to hoist the hardware at the end of this season.
