On October 29th, Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma held it inaugural event, the OK Underclass Prospect Games, in Edmond Oklahoma. Nearly 70 players from around the state from the 2018, 2019, and 2020 classes attended the event.
Player profiles have been updated with profile pictures, stats, videos and scouting reports. Today, we will take an in-depth look at some of the top performers at each position. Click on the player’s name to see their full profile.

Right-Handed Pitchers
Tanner Brooks, RHP, Westmoore HS (2018)
A 6-foot-3, 165-pound long limed frame, very projectable. Works with a moderate tempo, simple repeatable delivery with low effort. Big arm circle, free and easy arm action, high-3/4 slot. Fastball jumps on hitters, 81-83 mph, touches 84 mph. Curveball shows consistent late depth, 69-72 mph, 11/5 shape, for strikes. Changeup lost some arm speed, 78 mph, shows some fade. Brooks two inning outing was made up of four walks, one hit, and two strikeouts.
Tyler Dean, RHP, Latta HS (2018)
A 6-foot-3, 185-pound athletic frame with long legs and some strength. A simple, smooth, and easy delivery, fluid arm action, 3/4 slot, finishes to the first base side. Fastball has heavy arm-side run, 85-86 mph. Curveball has sharp, late 11/5 shape, for strikes, 72-76 mph. Changeup used sparingly, 76 mph, sink. Retired the first three batters in order, including two strikeouts, walked the extra batter of the inning after getting to a full count.
Landon Grissom, RHP, Stonewall HS (2018)
A 5-foot-10, 170-pound slight, athletic frame. Works from a simple repeatable delivery, short front side, 3/4 slot, loose, whippy, fast, arm action. Fastball ranged from 82-86 mph, can touch 88 mph, late life, slight run. Slider has 11/5 shape, tight spin, late depth , 73-75 mph. One of the best breaking balls in OK’s 2018 class. Grissom had three walks and three punch outs in his two innings, giving up no hard contact.
A.J. Moore, RHP, Moore HS (2018)
A 6-foot, 170, proportional build. Works from a smooth, up-tempo, athletic delivery, high leg kick. Arm action is loose, fluid, high-3/4 slot, hooks the ball in the back. Fastball sat 83-85 mph , has previously been up to 90 mph, flashes late, heavy, arm-side run. Slider is thrown with full arm speed, shows depth at 68-71 mph. Changeup is deceptive with late sink and fade 74-77 mph. Though his best stuff was not on display, Moore made quick work of batters for two innings throwing only four balls and not allowing a hit, two stakeouts and a walk.
Wyatt Olds, RHP, McLoud HS (2018)
A 6-foot, 170-pound athletic build. Works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with good rhythm and athleticism. Olds has a long arm stroke in the back before whipping his arm through at a just above side arm slot, and a violent finish. Fastball sits 87-89 with massive arm side run and sink. Slider has 10/4 shape with late depth, backs up at times, 73-77 mph. Easily one of the best arms in Oklahoma’s 2018 class. Olds struck out five of the six batters he faced in two innings, not allowing a hit.
J.T. Ray, RHP, Edmond Santa Fe HS (2018)
A 6-foot-4, 210-pound strong, athletic build. Works from an up-tempo delivery, a bit stiff with above average effort, strides slightly open. Arms action is long in the back, some quickness, 3/4 slot. Fastball flashes arm-side run 78-82 mph and touches 83 mph. A true slider, 10/4 shape, late depth 68-70 mph. Changeup thrown full arm speed, good fade, 67 mph. Ray faced the minimum in his two innings, attacking hitters, inducing two double plays. Fielded his position well.
Jack Gray, RHP, Edison Preparatory HS (2018)
A 6-foot-6, 240-pound impressive frame. Works from a controlled delivery with a slight pause after a high leg kick. Arm action is full and fluid, coming through at a high-3/4 slot. Fastball ranges from 77-83 mph and reaches as high as 85 mph, downhill tilt with slight run. Curveball lacks depth 60-62 mph. Gray threw two very effective innings, including striking out the side will all strikes in his second inning of work.
Left-Handed Pitchers
Jordan Brewer, LHP, Choctaw HS (2020)
A 5-foot-11, 140-pound slender frame, lots of room to add size and strength, high ceiling. Works with a up-tempo, athletic delivery, high leg kick, short arm action in the back, quick out front, 3/4 slot. Fastball sits 77-80 mph, touching 81 mph, consistent arm-side run. Breaking ball shows slurve action, 69-71 mph, flashes tight spin. Changeup, 69-70 mph, some sink. Brewers outing was up and down with three walks and three strikeouts in two innings.
Dax Fulton, LHP, Mustang HS (2020)
A 6-foot-4, 190-pound left-handed pitcher, long limbs, strong lower half. Clean, up-tempo delivery, high leg kick, strides slightly closed, high-3/4 slot, fluid arm action. Fastball sits 81-83 mph, enough cut to look like a slider at times. Two-seam shows some run and sink, 76-78. Changeup has good fade and depth, 73-75. Curveball showed good depth when down in the zone, 1/7 shape, 69-71. Retired the side in order in his inning of work with two ground outs and a punch out. Fulton pounded the zone, throwing only 3 balls.
Dylan Turner, LHP, Silo HS, (2019)
A 6-foot-3, 165 pound long frame, plenty of room to add strength. Up-tempo, repeatable delivery, gets the ball up early in the back, arm comes through clean and whippy, low-3/4 slot. Fastball is controlled at 76-78 mph with arm-side run. Slider shows 4/8 shape with sweeping action, 69 mph, also controlled. Retired his three batters in a row, striking out one.
Middle Infielders
Carter Dobrinski, SS, Bristow HS (2018)
A 6-foot, 185-pound durable, athletic frame, strength throughout. Offensively, right-handed hitter, pull approach in BP gave way to a line to line approach in the game, bat speed, quick hands, good hand eye. Athletic stance, great rhythm, smooth load, leg kick, strides slightly open. Defensively, sure hands, average range, accurate arm showed some carry. In-game, Dobrinski struck out, walked, and tripled to the right-center gap. Turned a double play on defense.
Korben Ford, SS, Silo HS (2020)
A 5-foot-5, 125-pound frame. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle of the field, flat approach. Hits from a balanced, athletic stance, short and flat to contact, high finish, good hand eye, 79 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.47 60. Defensively, superior hands, good footwork, short and quick 3/4 arm slot, 79 mph to first base. Ford went 2/3 in the game with a line drive through right side, a triple to left, and two walks.
Hunter Hughes, 2B, Tuttle HS (2018)
A 5-foot-10, 175-pound strong, muscular build. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle-pull, flat approach, strength and quickness in his hands. A slightly wide, balanced, athletic set-up with some rhythm in the hands, short stride, efficient path to contact, high finish. Hughes had easily one of the best rounds of the day, barreling almost every ball, 88 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.16 60. Defensively, advanced footwork, hands, and angles to the ball. Throws from an over the top slot, 73 mph, very accurate. Though hitless on the day, Hughes put together some very competitive at bats walking three times, taking an HBP, and stealing three bases. Also, turned a double play.
Corner Infielders
Carson Funkhouser, 3B, Fletcher HS (2019)
A 6-foot-4, 220-pound physically advanced frame, broad shoulders and strength. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle of the field, line drive approach. Balanced, athletic stance, slight leg kick, some length, smooth hands, good extension, easy pop, put multiple balls off the wall, 90 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.87 60. Defensively, methodical actions, some arm strength with carry and accuracy for a high-3/4 slot, 79 mph to first base. Funkhouser went 2/3 in the game with two singles up the middle and a strikeout.
Josh Soliz, 1B, Edmond North HS (2019)
A 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame with broad shoulders and long legs. Offensively, left-handed hitter, all fields approach, some pop. Narrow, balanced stance, smooth knee-knock load, good hands, some bat speed, 85 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.5 60. Defensively, some stiff actions, 3/4 slot, 67 mph to third base. In-game, was one of the offensive stars of the day going 2/2 with a left-on-left oppo double that got to the wall, another oppo double, and a walk.
C.D. White, 1B, Owasso HS (2018)
A 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame with strength. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle of the field approach, shows good pop and hand strength, putting multiple balls off the center field wall. Wide, balanced, athletic stance, smooth load, small stride, late heel plant, short to the ball, excellent hand strength, 89 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.62 60. Defensively, a bit stiff at times, makes the average plays, short, over the top arm action, 76 mph to third base. White went 0/3 with two strikeouts.
Catchers
Cooper Harris, C, Choctaw HS (2020)
A 6-foot-1, 177-pound athletic frame with some length. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle-pull approach, some pop to the pull gap. Slightly open athletic stance, some rhythm, hands start high, short stride, slightly uphill path, 81 mph exit velo. Defensively, an advances receiver with soft hands a quiet movements, doesn’t drop baseballs. Throws from a high-3/4 slot, fast arm, 81 mph, 1.94-2.01 showcase pops, 2.25 in game pop, flashes improved accuracy. Consistent blocker, moves well laterally, clean exchanges, good footwork and keeps the pitcher in rhythm. Runs a 7.65 60. Though hitless in the game, Harris didn’t strike out. He was the only hitter to put Olds in play, flying out to right-center.
Carson Kropp, C, Owasso HS (2018)
A 6-foot-2 , 215-pound muscular, lean, athletic frame. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle-pull approach, consistently hit balls in the air, created some backspin. Wide athletic stance, some rhythm, short, slightly closed stride, late heal plant, late arm bar, strong hands, aggressive swings, 79 mph exit velo. Defensively, good receiver, consistent feet and exchange, over the top arm action, some stiffness, 76 mph to second, 1.94-2.01 showcase pops, very accurate arm. Ran a 7.31 60. Had two walks, two strikeouts, and deep fly to left on the day.
Dalton Smith, C, Norman North HS (2019)
A 5-foot-11, 180-pound lean, strong, athletic build. Offensively, right-handed hitter, flat, middle of the field approach, aggressive swing. Hits from a relaxed upright stance with some rhythm, flat plane through contact, front foot heavy swing, fast hands out front, 81 mph exit velo. Defensively, clean and quick exchanges, short, over the top arm action, 72 mph to second, 1.96-2.08 showcase pop times, 2.37 in game pop. Average reciveing and blocking. Runs a 7.10 60. Reached on an error, walked, and struck out in the game.
Outfielders
Mason Carrier, OF, Edmond North HS (2018)
A 6-foot, 190 pound strong, durable build. Offensively, left-handed hitter, opposite field, line drive approach, very good round of BP, shows some pop. Open, upright stance, big knee-knock leg kick, flat path through contact, creates backspin, aggressive swing, 83 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.28 60, 4.66 home-to-first in-game, to heads-up stolen bases. Defensively, clean actions, charges the ball well, over the top arm slot, some carry, 82 mph from the outfield. In-game, went 1/3 with a base hit through the right side, two ground-outs and a walk.
Donovan Gaines, OF, Southmoore HS (2019)
A 5-foot-11, 190-pound muscular, athletic frame. Offensively, left-handed hitter, all fields, flat approach, some bat speed. Unright, open, balanced stance, coil load, quick hands, rotational finish, 85 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.06 60 and gets out of the box well. Defensively, athletic, aggressive actions, over the top slot, 73 mph from the outfield. In-game Gaines reached base tree times on two walks and an error by the first baseman, also had two strikeouts.
Kaden Marshall, OF, Deer Creek HS (2019)
A 6-foot-3, 205-pound muscular, athletic build. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle-pull, flat approach, flashes big pop from bat speed and hand strength. Athletic, wide set-up with rhythm, rocking load, slight leg lift, flat path through finish, 95 mph exit velo. Shows the ability to cover the whole dish, hitting the ball hard in all locations. Runs a 7.03 60. Defensively, aggressive actions, good hands, high-3/4 slot with some stiffness, 82 mph arm with some carry. Marshall went 0/3 in the game, flying out to the track in left and striking out.
Brandon Rutledge, OF, McAlester HS (2018)
A 5-foot-8, 150-pound quick twitch athletic build. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle-oppo, ground ball and flat approach. Balanced, athletic set-up, slight knee-knock load, pulls a flat bat through the zone with quick hands, pulls of early at times, 87 mph exit velo. Runs a smooth 6.66 60, getting up to speed quickly, ran a 4.23 home-to first in the game. Defensively, smooth, confident actions, good hands, short, quick high-3/4 slot, some accuracy, 81 mph from the outfield. In-game, Rutledge put consistent pressure on the left side of the infield with his speed, reaching base twice on rushed errors, punched a clean hit through the 6-hole, and drew a walk, one of the few hitters to not strike out on the day.
Gabriel Williams, OF, Washington HS (2020)
A 6-foot-2, 174-pound athletic build with long levers, projectable. Offensively, right-handed hitter, pull-gap, line drive approach, shows some bat and uses his levers well. Slightly narrow, closed stance, reverse toe-tap load, strides closed, quality back side drive, quick, easy hands, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.68 60. Defensively, average actions, high-3/4, loose arm slot that will get better as Williams adds strength to his frame, 74 mph. In-game, struck out and grounded out to the pitcher.
Two-Way And Utility Players
Jordan Compton, SS/RHP, Carl Albert HS (2018)
A 5-foot-11, 170-pound lean build. Offensively, switch hitter, more consistent from the right, middle of the field approach, bat speed, some pop to the pull gap. Back leg heavy set-up, some rhythm in the hands, small stride, slightly uphill path produces backspin, 87 mph exit velo. Defensively, quick, strong, and accurate arm, 86 mph across the diamond, average hands, flashes improved footwork. Runs a 7.14 60. Compton went 1/3 with a strikeout, walk and line drive triple over the center fielders head. On the mounds, simple, smooth delivery, strides slightly closed, very small arm circle, 3/4 slot. Fastball shows late sink and run, 82-84 mph, can touch 85 mph. Slurve has some depth, 11/5 shape, 70-71 mph. Changeup has late fade, 74-75 mph. Compton overcame an error in the field on the first batter with a punch out followed by double play. A seven pitch inning with only two balls thrown.
Hank Paden, SS/C, Edmond Memorial HS (2018)
A 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with room to add strength. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle-pull, flat approach. Relaxed, upright, slightly open stance, moderate stride, rotational path, 82 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.08 60. Defensively, at shortstop, soft, consistent hands, good feet, throws from a loose 3/4 slot, some accuracy, 81 mph across the diamond. Defensively, behind the plate, quick exchanges, efficient arm action, good feet, flashes some accuracy, 75 mph to second, 1.94-2.02 showcase pop. Shows the aptitude behind the plate and at short to be a true utility player at the next level. Paden was 0/3, but reached base on an E-6 in the game.
Brock Schreiner, SS/OF, Choctaw HS (2018)
A 6-foot, 160-pound athletic, wiry strong frame. An advanced runner, 6.69 60, 4.54 on the turn to second. Offensively, right-handed hitter, middle-pull approach, quick hands. Balanced wide stance, short stride, short to the ball, flat path to contact, has a knack for finding the barrel. Defensively, excellent lateral movement, quick hands, developing arm strength. Cover lots of ground in the outfield, makes good reads, body control shows on diving catches. Schreiner showed his speed with in an infield hit to the shortstop, also had two strikeouts.
