DALLAS, TX - More weather rolled through North Texas the past few days, and even though some tournament schedules changed, that did not put a damper on the games that were scheduled for turf fields.

Forney vs. Jesuit

The Forney Jackrabbits ( No. 19 Ranked team in the Texas Power 25 sent 2018 LHP Jonathan Childress to mound, while Dallas Jesuit countered with 2021 RHP Gavin Perryman. Childress, a Texas A&M commit and the No. 4 ranked player in the Texas 2018 Class. Perryman is the No. 9 ranked player in the Texas 2021 Class.

Jesuit got on the board for two runs in the second inning when Garret Reuben lead off the inning with a chopper up the middle. After moving up on an infield error, Coach Jones had Kamalipour sacrifice bunt, and Reuben later scored on a passed ball. The Rangers added two in the third on an RBI double off the bat of uncommitted 2018 SS Maccoy Lopez. Lopez laced a double over right fielders head, and later scored on another passed ball. 3-0 Jesuit.

Forney threatened in the top of the fifth, putting up two runs after three singles and a walk, but Perryman bowed his neck, getting a ground ball and two strike outs with runners in scoring position to end the rally.

Jesuit would add an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth off the bat of 2019 Garrett Reuben when he sent a Childress fastball over the right field fence. Perryman would not allow another Forney batter to reach base in the final two frames. Final Score, Jesuit 5, Forney 2.
