Sophomore OF Carson Carpenter has had a fantastic year for Fort Scott in 2023. In 196 plate appearances across 50 games, he has slashed .394/.490/.727. He has shown an excellent blend of power and contact skills, hitting 13 home runs and racking up 41 RBI, while striking out only 30 times. Carpenter has also stolen five bases, and his .969 fielding percentage indicates a solid glove. At last fall’s Fort Scott CC Scout Day, he showed off his athleticism and power, running a 6.64 second 60-yard dash, with a top speed of 21.3 MPH, while crushing the ball for a maximum exit velocity of 101.2 MPH and a maximum distance of 391 ft. Through his production this year, Carpenter has shown that he can be a potential five-tool player at the next level.
