On Saturday, January 7th, the PBR Texas Staff traveled to Weatherford College to host the Houston Preseason ID. The event featured prospects of all HS classes from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the outfielders. We broke down the top-five outfielders on the day followed by the rest in attendance.

1. Trenton Buckley, Magnolia West, 2024
Positional Profile: SS/RHP Buckley has a big league arm talent and big raw power at the plate. As he continues to get into the power in games, Buckley's stock will continue to trend up.
Body: 5-11, 160-pounds.
Hits: RHH. 60/40 set up, heel lift for load. Hands drop at end of load allowing him to work up through the ball creating lift.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 84.7 MPH. 350' max distance. Shows ability to impact the baseball and produce hard contact with a minimal load.
Arm: RH. INF-90 mph.OF-98 mph. short powerful arm action from INF and OF.
Defense: Good footwork and weight transfer into all throws.
Run: 7.27 runner in the 60.

2. Judson Dowell, Houston Lamar, 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP Dowell has lighting in his hands at the plate, and some serious raw power. Good arm in the OF. The Texas A&M commit has loud tools across the board.
Body: 6-0, 185-pounds.
Hits: RHH. 50/50 set up. Small leg kick load. Keeps hands high and barred out, creates hip/shoulder separation. One handed finish.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 86.6 MPH. 363' max distance. Creates consistent loud contact and shows legit power to pullside. Electric bat speed.
Arm: RH. OF-84 mph. normal arm action, quick release.
Defense: okay footwork, gets on line with throw.
Run: 7.13 runner in the 60.

3. Jake Baskin, St. Thomas, 2025
Positional Profile: OF/C Baskin is a big, strong, power hitting OF who will be a good pick up for a program.
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds.
Hits: RHH. 50/50 set up with a minimal load. Very rotational swing, works down through ball at contact.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 89.8 MPH. 355' max distance. Makes consistent hard contact and shows the ability to pull ball with authority.
Arm: RH. OF-85 mph. Short arm action from OF.
Defense: Charges balls with good footwork and confidence in OF.

4. Matthew Alan Novominsky, Clear Falls, 2024
Positional Profile: OF/LHP Novominsky features a solid OF arm and good feel for the barrel at the plate with gap to gap power.

Hits: LHH. 60/40 stance, steps closed. Hands start high and drop to pitch height, meets ball out front.

Positional Profile: OF/OF Hurst is a good athlete who runs well and has a nice swing with more power to come. Will be a solid pick up.

Hits: RHH. 50/50 stance, wraps bat, heel up/download. Gets on plane and has a long finish w/ lift.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 82.9 MPH. 315' max distance. Finds a lot of barrels, gets good extension with a long finish, more power to come.

Defense: charges ball with great footwork, transfers into throw well.

Caden Baker, Houston Stratford, 2024
Positional Profile: SS/OF Baker is a great athlete who shows above avg. tools across the board. George Mason Commit.
Body: 5-8, 160-pounds.
Hits: LHH. 50/50 set up, rocks back for load. Hands drop and work up through the ball at contact.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 78.6 MPH. 321' max distance. Makes hard contact with really quick hands.
Arm: RH. INF-84 mph.OF-89 mph. Shows a strong arm that plays anywhere on the field.
Defense: His speed and footwork will keep him at a premier position likely SS/CF.

Travis Berra, Seven Lakes, 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF Travis Berra is an athletic two way player that will make a solid pickup.
Body: 6-1, 155-pounds.

Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 77.8 MPH. 311' max distance. Gets on plane and lifts the ball naturally, produces backspin easily.

Defense: charges the ball with decent footwork, transfers body into throw well.

Marcus Cantu, Lutheran South, 2026
Positional Profile: SS/OF Cantu is an extremely talented player who could have 5 elite tools as he continues to develop and fill out. Has a natural feel for the game on the field, and will be fun to watch the next 4 years.
Body: 5-9, 165-pounds.
Hits: LHH. 50/50 set up, leg kick load. Hands drop with load to allow him to lift up throw the ball at contact, gets on plane early.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 78.4 MPH. 333' max distance. Gets on plane early with natural lift, and pulls the ball with authority.
Arm: RH. INF-85 mph.OF-89 mph. short and quick arm action that generates plenty of velo.
Defense: feet and arm will allow him to play anywhere on the field.

Cody Ford, George Ranch, 2024
Positional Profile: OF/OF Ford is an extremely powerful player who has big time raw power. Good athlete for his size.
Body: 6-3, 235-pounds.
Hits: RHH. 50/50 set up, rocks back and lifts leg for load.
Power: 99 max exit velocity, averaged 90.3 MPH. 359' max distance. Consistent barrels, really physical body to go with plus bat speed
Arm: RH. OF-81 mph. norml arm action and release.
Defense: fields ball cleanly and delivers accurate throws to bag.
Run: 7.16 runner in the 60.

Gage Greene, Pearland Dawson, 2024
Positional Profile: OF/SS Gage has a lot of tools, and a frame to be excited about. As he continues to grow into it, he will really take off.
Body: 6-2, 175-pounds.
Hits: SH. 50/50 set up with a toe tap load. Gets on plane decently early, produces backspin working up through the ball.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 72.8 MPH. 320' max distance. Shows ability to pull with authority, finds consistent hard contact.
Arm: RH. OF-75 mph. long arm swing, over the top release without pulldown.
Defense: decent footwork, gets behind the ball.

Kaleb Harrison, Katy, 2026
Positional Profile: OF/SS Harrison is a decent athlete who can play most positions on the field, will be interesting to watch for developing power as he fills out.
Body: 5-10, 150-pounds.
Hits: RHH. 60/40 set up, small leg lift load. Gets on plane and tries to elevate.
Power: 83 max exit velocity, averaged 70.2 MPH. 295' max distance. As he continues to fill out, the lift in his swing can develop to gap to gap power.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph.OF-82 mph. short arm action w/ quick release.
Defense: good feet, stays through ball in both OF/INF.
