Game 2 Quick Hits - vs Ark/Kas
August 2, 2019
CARTERSVILLE, GA - Team Texas took a tough 6-7 loss in the second game of the PBR Futures Games as a seventh inning comeback got cut short. A couple of standout pitching performances and solid at-bats kept the buzz on high around the park. Here are the quick hits and top performers:
2021 LHP/OF Tyler Schott (Marcus, TX)
Schott had a solid day on both sides of the ball in Game 2. He went 1-1 with a hard hit single, on which he would eventually come around to score a run from, and he drew a walk, which also produced a run for Team Texas. Schott had a nice inning of work on the mound as well showing immense promise from his arsenal. Throwing from a low ¾ slot, Schott’s fastball clocked 86-87 mph and looked heavy as he peppered the zone. He spun a 1/7 shape curveball at 71-73 mph that he could vary with intensity of break, and it was an especially strong tool against the left-handed hitter that he struck out.
.@tylerschott17 slings a crisp 86-87 mph fastball from the low 3/4 slot and displays good feel for a 71-73 mph curveball that has depth and is especially potent against LHH. #PBRFutureGames pic.twitter.com/8jaYY0lUHt
