Jonathan Childress, LHP, Forney HS, 2018
Texas A&M commit. 6-foot-4, 205-pound, long-limbed frame. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a quick arm stroke. His fastball sat 88-90 mph in the first inning with good arm side run. His curveball is a plus pitch with sharp downward bite and 1/7 shape at 79-80. Struck out 11 batters, but ultimately took the 5-2 loss. His velocity dropped down to 85-87 in the fourth inning, but the curveball was still sharp at 78-79 mph. His fifth inning was his best, as he struck out the side, pitching predominantly off his curveball.
