This past week brought a lot of content from Texas and across Prep Baseball Report. Over the past two weeks we have been in Dallas, Houston and Austin. Sansone "Sammy" Faltine III, SS/RHP, Ft. Bend Travis HS
Texas commit. 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame. Athletic lean build. Works from a high-¾ slot with clean arm action and athletic delivery. His fastball ranged from 84-86 mph in one inning of work. Threw his slider at 74 mph with good downward action. At shortstop he showed fluid advanced actions for his age with good carry in the arm. Offensively he works from a balanced stance with fluid rhythm, good hand path with pop in the bat. He ran a 6.67 60-yard dash. All around high-level prospect.
Armani Sanchez, RHP/SS, Reagan HS
6-foot, 160-pound frame. Lean athletic build. Works from a high-¾ slot with clean, whippy arm action. Fastball ranged from 80-85 mph, sitting mostly 83-84 mph. His changeup was is best off-speed pitch at 71-72 mph with good arm speed and downward action. He spun his slider 67-68 mph. Offensively he has a solid setup at the plate grounding out to second base on the barrel. All around athletic player with fast twitch tools.
Connor Phillips, RHP, Magnolia West HS
6-foot-1, 170-pound lean frame. Works from a high-¾ slot with long, clean arm action. His fastball ranged from 84-86 mph in the first four innings. Fastball has some arm-side run and sink. He showed good command moving the fastball around the zone and locating on both sides of the plate. Did a good job controlling the running game posting 1.1-1.2 home-to-the-plate times out of the stretch. In the fifth inning he was still sitting 83 mph with his fastball. Threw one slider at 77 mph.
