This past week brought a lot of content from Texas and across Prep Baseball Report. Over the past two weeks we have been in Dallas, Houston and Austin. Here are four uncommitted senior pitchers that have stood out.

Garrett Egli, RHP, Smithson Valley HS
6-foot-4, 195-pound frame. Works from a high-¾ slot with a short, clean arm action. Intriguing arm because of the frame and the way the arm works. His fastball was 81-83 at the end of his outing, but the slider was 72-74 mph with good action and downward life. With his projection and arm action, he should throw harder down the road.

Clayton Jones, RHP, Coppell HS
6-foot-1, 180-pound, lean muscular frame. Works from a low-¾ slot with long arm action. In one inning of action his fastball ranged from 83-85 mph, topping out at 87 once. The fastball has some arm-side run and sink. The slider was 75-76 mph with some good, tight, late life. Surprising because from his slot you would think it would be more of a sweeper but his actually has some late downward life. Lacks varsity innings because of the high-end arms that Coppell has produced , but with low miles on the arm and recent strength gains he could make some significant jumps. High-academic student.

Christian Larson, RHP, Taylor HS
5-foot-10, 170-pound strong frame. Works from a high-¾ slot with a quick delivery. He is aggressive getting down the mound using his entire body to generate arm speed. In two innings of work, his fastball ranged from 86-88 mph with some life, topping out once at 90 mph. His slider was 75-77 mph with good downward action. The changeup was his third-best pitch at 79 mph with a little depth. Showed solid command, locating the fastball on both sides of plate and being able to finish hitters with his slider.

 

Zachary DeLeon, RHP, Hondo HS
Listed at 6 feet, 180 pounds with broad shoulders. Works from a ¾ slot with a repeatable delivery that has good energy getting down the mound. Fastball sits 84-87 mph with clean arm action. Slider has good downward slurvy action at 74 mph. Can move ball around the zone and throws his slider consistently moving it in and out of the zone depending on the count. Showed the ability to field his position making a nice play on a swinging bunt down the third base line.
