DALLAS, TX - Here are some of the highlights from the pitchers that threw at the DFW Area Code tryouts.

TOP PERFORMERS

Jonathan Childress, LHP, Forney HS, 2018
Texas A&M recruit. 6-foot-5, 215-pound, projectable, long-limbed frame. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot as his fastball jumps on top of hitters with arm side life at 88-90 mph. He is able to work both sides of the plate, making it difficult for hitter. His slider is a swing-and-miss pitch at 77-80 mph with 1-7 shape, late life and depth. He also has feel for a changeup that has depth and arm side fade at 81, and 84 mph.

Matt Rudis, RHP, Madisonville HS, 2018
TCU recruit. 6-foot-3, 195-pound, projectable frame. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a loose, easy arm stroke. His fastball explodes on hitters at 92-93 mph, touching 94 mph once in his inning of work (96 mph on the scoreboard radar gun). His slider is a plus pitch with 11-5 shape, late bite, swing-and-miss life and depth at 81-82 mph. The stuff is already electric, but his strong, projectable frame and easy arm action suggest that his velocity could continue to climb.

Chris Weber, LHP, Samuel V Champion HS, 2018
Texas A&M recruit. 6-foot-4, 210-pound, projectable frame. The left-hander works from a ¾ slot with a quick arm stroke. Weber’s fastball has plus life at 90-91 mph. His curveball was 75 mph with 2-8 shape, while his changeup was 76 mph. His last pitch of the outing was an 80 mph slider with late life and downward bite.
