ROUND ROCK, TX
Round Rock vs. Belton
The Round Rock Dragons squared up with the visiting Belton Tigers in what turned out to be a back and forth battle until the end. An error in the bottom of the 3rd spurred a 3-run inning for the Dragons giving them a 3-2 lead. Back-to-back doubles in the top of the 5th gave the lead back to the Tigers until junior Reagan Doss’s double brought in 2 Dragon runs that eventually sealed the Tigers fate as the Dragons closed out a 6-4 win.
McNeil vs. Goose Creek Memorial
Rice commit Cristian Cienfuegos shined both on the mound and with the bat leading Goose Creek to an easy victory, 10-4. Cienfuegos struck out 8 and knocked in 4 runs. Goose Creek went up 6-0 in the 2nd inning and never looked back even as McNeil threatened in multiple innings.
Lake Travis vs. Kingwood Park
Lake Travis dominated early and often as they opened up the final day of play in the Langerhans-Bratcher Invitational Tournament with a 9-1 win over Kingwood Park. TAMUCC signee Bryce Weisinger tamed the Kingwood Park bats all day long and the potent Lake Travis offense consistently put pressure on every pitcher they faced, scoring in 5 of the 6 innings.
Lake Travis vs. McNeil
In Lake Travis’s final game in what has been a successful Langerhans-Bratcher Invitational Tournament, University of Central Missouri signee Harrison Babbitt took the hill to protect the Cavaliers perfect record. Babbitt responded by battling with a young and scrappy McNeil Maverick team for 5 innings of 1-run baseball. 2019 Texas commit Brett Baty blasted a 2-run homerun and delivered 2 shutout innings to put a cap on the 11th Lake Travis victory of the season, 5-1. Lake Travis dominated the Langerhans-Bratcher Invitational going 6-0 and only allowing 8 runs in total. The weekends wins included an impressive 2-0 shutout over perennial power, The Woodlands, and a 2-1 road victory over the other Austin area powerhouse, Round Rock.
