All-State Games South: Quick Hits

HUNTSVILLE, TX - On October 6th, our PBR Texas Staff hosted the All-State Games South at Sam Houston State University. The event featured a highly talented group of prospects from the 2022-2025 classes. Players started the day off by going through a workout where they ran the 60, threw from positions, hit BP on field, and ended the day by splitting into teams and playing two simulated games. Today, we take a look at some of our staff's first impressions from the event.
Je-Isaac Alamo SS / 2B / Travis, TX / 2022Complete day overall. Solid showing during the workout portion and stood out offensively in the game with multiple barrels on the day. Alamo’s bat has a shot to stand out down the line. |
Carson Luna SS / 2B / St. Johns, TX / 2024Athletic showing once again by one of the top 2024 infielders in the state. Luna made multiple plays on the left side of the infield as well as hitting balls hard and showing natural athleticism on the base paths. |
Jacob Silva C / 3B / Clark, TX / 2024Silva seems to do all the little things right behind the dish, from calling a game, to handling the arms he catches. Was great to see the switch hitter get 3 hits on the day including a double to LCF |
Brock Rod OF / LHP / El Campo, TX / 2023Rankings StateRank: 107 / POS: 12
Rod once again showed an all around game as a two way player. Found 2 barrels on the day as well as showing off natural arm talent from the OF. Challenges hitters in the box filling up the zone with 2 pitches for strikes. |
Kyle Branch 2B / SS / Lovejoy, TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 73 / POS: 1
Branch didn’t have the results but hammered 2 balls in the game. 1 Hard line drive right at the SS as well as a deep backspun line drive to the warning track in LF at Sam Houston State. Lots to like moving forward |
Karsen Luther 1B / 3B / Conroe, TX / 2023Luther got in the box to do damage each time and he got every ounce of a deep HR to LF in the game, as well as another in game line drive double. Luther has a shot to be offensive and impact the game from the box |
Easton Dean C / 1B / Coldspring Oakhurst, TX / 2024Physical 2024 Catcher showed a lot to like moving forward. Put multiple quality in game swings on the ball as well has handled the arms well behind the dish. Dean will be a name to follow with time. |
Zeke Seoane C / 2B / Timber Creek, TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 53 / POS: 8
Switch hitting catcher showed natural ability from both sides of the plate as a hitter. Showed a 2.05 POP time in the workout with accurate throws as well as an in game barrel to LCF.. Lots to like from the young backstop |
Jacob Mabie 1B / C / Brenham, TX / 2023Mabie had multiple hard hit balls on the day including a double early in the day. Mabie gets in the box ready to hit and looks to do damage in each AB. |
Juan Garcia 2B / C / WB Ray , TX / 2023Took one of the better rounds of BP on the day. Stayed in the middle of the field and showed a compact swing that was on plane each swing. Added a single during gameplay as well. |
William Block C / 3B / Mansfield Lake Ridge, TX / 2022Rankings StateRank: 161 / POS: 17
Block has always showed the tools defensively with a quick transfer and strong accurate arm. Threw a 2.02 POP in game on the bag for a CS. Also great to see him get 2 knocks on the day |
Cade Morales C / OF / St. John XXIII, TX / 2022Physical 6-3, 190 Catcher shows you a ton to love moving forward. Swung the bat well in game resulting in multiple extra base hits including a ground rule double to deep RCF. Morales had himself a quality day all around. |
Dalton Olsovsky C / RHP / Keller, TX / 2023Olsovky showed well as a two way talent on the day. Physical catcher/RHP showed some natural juice at the plate with multiple hard hit balls on the day as well as plenty of arm strength on the mound moving forward topping at 88 on the day. |
Caden Ferraro LHP / 1B / Pearland, TX / 2023Rankings StateRank: 160 / POS: 12
Banged balls around the yard during the game. Simple yet powerful stroke from the left side hit 3 balls hard to all fields in the game 2-2B’s and a 1B. Bat has a shot to be an impact bat. Also showed plenty to like on the mound moving forward. |
Tanner Sever SS / 2B / Coppell , TX / 2023Rankings StateRank: 82 / POS: 20
Sever seems to always find the barrel at the dish. Natural hitter that can cover the entire plate and hit the ball hard to all fields. Played all over the infield on the day making multiple nice plays. |
Myles Mayse C / 1B / Dallas Jesuit, TX / 2025Might have been the most impressive workout on the day. Switch hitting 2025 catcher showed bat speed and feel for the barrel from both sides of the plate. Balls jump off the bat with authority. Also showed a quick transfer and accurate throws for a 1.95 best POP time |
Colin Huspen RHP / RHP / Allen, TX / 2022Rankings StateRank: 119 / POS: 35
Filled the zone up early and often up to 87. Pure strike thrower with 3 pitches getting 7 outs in his allotted pitch count. Quite impressive to see his feel for all pitches in the zone. Lots to like about Huspen moving forward. |
Hayden Tronson RHP / OF / Deer Park, TX / 2022Flashed a bright future on the mound with a complete arsenal of pitches. Got swings and misses with the FB/SL and CH in the zone. Clean & repeatable delivery FB 84-87 SL 78-79 CH 76-78

Grant Davis 3B / RHP / Alvin, TX / 2022Athlete with natural arm strength up to 90 across the diamond. Lean, projectable frame who is still just scratching the surface of who he can become. Athleticism should allow him to play all over the field as well as hop on the bump as he allows athleticism to transfer to the mound. |
Wade Eslick C / OF / Tomball , TX / 2022Flat out ball player. Plays the game with a very high IQ behind the dish and does all of the little things right. Calls a good game, understands the arms he is catching. Plays confident with natural leadership abilities. Eslick makes every team he is on better. |
Chase Fuentes C / OF / The Woodlands Christian Academy , TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 65 / POS: 12
Young catcher showed a lot to like moving forward. Showed a 1.97 POP for his best on the day as well as multiple nice blocks on the day in the game. Fuentes is another just scratching the surface of who he can become behind the dish. |
Brydan Hernandez C / RHP / Corsicana, TX / 2023Rankings StateRank: 120 / POS: 13
Had 3 hard hit balls on the day resulting in 2 base hits. Has always shown natural arm strength behind the plate with accurate throws with good carry to 2B with 4 straight 2.00-2.01 POP times. Hernandez has the ability to control the running game by himself in games. |
Carson Garrett OF / SS / Barbers Hill, TX / 2023Rankings StateRank: 58 / POS: 8
Toolsy and explosive athlete. Multiple nice plays showing his speed and athleticism in CF. Took a quality round of BP, staying in the middle of the field and driving balls with backspin. Garrett will be a key piece to another loaded Barbers Hill high school team. |
Briley Van RHP / 2B / Barbers Hill , TX / 2023Van was more than impressive on the mound topping at 87 and averaging 86 mph. BB was firm and showed the right shape at times. Challenged hitters in the zone with a quality 2 pitch mix, more velo to come. |
Jax Marshall OF / 3B / McKinney Christian, TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 92 / POS: 14
Marshall has a natural feel for rhythm and timing in the box, shown by multiple barrels in the game portion of the day. As he continues to physically mature look for marshall to make big jumps and become an offensive force. |
Jackson Elizondo 1B / LHP / Smithson Valley, TX / 2023Rankings StateRank: 85 / POS: 3
The LHP has a knack for missing bats with the FB and SL. FB averaged 85 mph and SL was 76 mph on the day. Will flash some natural cut on the ball. FB has a high IVB allowing ball to stay above the barrel through the zone. |
Josh Glaser 3B / RHP / Flower Mound, TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 61 / POS: 5
Took quite an impressive round of BP on the day and showed glimpses of who he can become down the road. Also hopped on the mound on the day topping out at 85 and filling up the zone challenging hitters. |
Jacob Hamilton SS / C / Legacy Christian Academy, TX / 2023The physical C/INF had himself an all around day. From the workout to the game, Hamilton continued to show up with multiple quality swings in the box as well as a few quality plays in the field showing his ability to play the game all over the field |
Kyle Lockhart RHP / OF / Friendswood , TX / 2024Another well rounded athlete that performed well in the workoutportion of the day. Lockhart continues to impress on the mound showing the ability to get swings and misses on both the FB and CB. FB/CB combo play well together. |
