The annual All State Games took place on Saturday, November 2nd at Alex Box Stadium on the campus of Louisiana State University. The invite only event saw 80+ of the best prospects from across the state of Louisiana.

Today, Louisiana Scouting Directors Trey Sofio and Walt Jones run through a few quick hits and observations of prospects from the annual invite only event.

+ 2022 LHP DJ Primeaux (Central HS, LA) had a high level outing on Saturday. The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder showed why he’s the top southpaw in Louisiana’s 2022 class flashing advanced feel for a quality 3 pitch mix. Primeaux showed a fastball up to 85 mph with advanced command, pitching to both sides of the plate with ease. He also flashed a high level breaking ball with sharp, late bite and swing-and-miss qualities at 72-75 mph.
+ 2022 C Carson Carey (Airline HS, LA) was a standout at this summer's Future Games and the sophomore catching prospect stood out once again Saturday. An athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound catcher with lean build, Carey showed advanced receiving ability with fluid footwork, clean transfers, and plus arm strength with carry on throws, posting a pop time of 2.01-seconds and a positional velocity of 77 mph.
+ Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, 2021 3B/SS Kyle DeBarge (Barbe HS, LA) continued to show he’s one of the better defenders in the state on Saturday. An athletic 5-foot-8, 145-pound frame, DeBarge flashed his athleticism by posting a laser-timed 6.93-second 60-yard dash, and showed fluid, athletic actions with quick, active feet during the defensive workout. He plays with a high motor and consistently shows a high energy level, which separates him amongst his peers often times.
+ Auburn recruit, 2021 SS/RHP Seaver Sheets (Sterlington HS, LA) had one of the most eye-opening performances of the day, as the 5-foot-10, 150-pounder showed well both as a position player and on the mound. The left-handed hitting middle infielder had a solid round of batting practice showing strength at contact with bat speed, and flashed power to his pull side. Defensively, he showed off plus arm strength across the diamond, posting a 94 mph positional velocity. On the mound, he had one of the more dominating outings of the day, pitching 86-90 mph with his fastball that showed quality ride and life through the strike zone. His breaking ball was sharp, flashing out-pitch potential at 72-74 mph and consistently got swing-and-misses.
+ 2020 RHP Jake Cohen (John Curtis HS, LA) had a dominating outing on Saturday, striking out 7 of the 8 batters he faced. The right-hander showed ability to create deception with his delivery while consistently pounding the strike zone. Cohen also ran his fastball up to 90 mph and pitched at 88-89 mph, showing quality command and late life in the zone. He also showed advanced feel to spin the baseball flashing a 70-71 mph get me over breaker and also a 73-74 mph slurve with swing-and-miss potential.
+ 2022 RHP Jimmie Johnson (Central HS, LA) put together another strong outing on Saturday. The athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-hander showed high-level pitchablity with his fastball-slider combo. Johnson pitched at 83-85 mph with a slippery fastball, showing the ability to consistently miss barrels. The slider also showed improvement as he flashed a couple for swings and misses at 73-75 mph with quality depth.
+ New Orleans recruit, 2020 RHP Tyler Pope (Alexandria HS, LA) had a solid performance Saturday. An athletic 5-foot-11, 190-pound right-hander, Pope pitched 85-89 mph, fastball command was inconsistent at times, but the life and carry through the zone overwhelmed hitters, resulting in several swing-and-misses. Showed workable secondary stuff with solid breaking ball at 70-72 mph that flashed solid shape and depth.
+ 2022 SS/2B Cole Tabor (Airline HS, LA) used Saturday’s event to burst onto the scene. The slick fielding middle infielder flashed high level actions and solid arm strength with accuracy establishing himself as one of the top infield defenders at the event. The young infelder also took an impressive round of batting practice showing a smooth left-handed stroke with solid strength while posting an exit velocity of 88 mph. The swing also played in-game as he showed quality strike zone awareness and made quality contact.
