The 2024 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Snyder Tigers led by Coach Shane Stewart bring back an experienced roster that finished 2023 as 4A Bi-District Finalists. On top of the experience the Tigers return in 2024, Coach Stewart believes the depth they have on the mound will be huge for them this season as well.

Leading the way for this Tigers squad will be Western Texas College signee INF/RHP Brandt House (2024), who should factor as both a position player and as a pitcher this season. Also entering 2024 as two-way players for the Tigers are INF/RHP Easton Stewart (2024; uncommitted) and CIF/RHP Ty Nuttall (2024; uncommitted). Elsewhere on the diamond, this senior class returns OF Dom Dominguez (uncommitted), 1B Kyler Groves (uncommitted), and C Jaxon West (uncommitted). With bringing back six key returners, that leaves the door open for some new and younger players to step up this season.

A pair of junior infielders will look to be some of the younger players that step up for the Tigers this season in Isaiah Martinez (uncommitted) and Caleb Williams (uncommitted). Additionally, two freshmen will also look to try and crack the varsity roster in 2024 in UTL AJ Perez and C/UTL Ethan Garza. If they do not make varsity this season, Perez and Garza will still give Coach Stewart pieces to build around for future seasons as they develop within the program.

With the amount of experienced veterans the Tigers return heading into this season, Coach Stewart and his team look primed to be back in the 4A postseason again in 2024.
