The 2024 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the State Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and eventually releasing our preseason Top 30 teams in the state.

Team Outlook:

The A&M Consolidated Tigers and Coach Ryan Lennerton bring back a ton of production from a 2023 squad that ended up as 5A Area finalists, and look poised to make another postseason run in 2024. The Tigers will be led on offense by Senior infielders Nathan Hodge (Houston Baptist) and Joaquin Costa (ETBU), C Trey Walker (Grayson College), and outfielders Brandon Jennings (NWOSU) and Dalton Cordray. Complementing the senior-led offensive attack will be a pair of 2025 outfielders, who will also likely contribute on the mound in Kai Hood (Uncommitted) and Cannon Kieschnick (Uncommitted). The Tigers’ pitching staff will feature a blend of experience and youth that should help set the Tigers up well for this season and beyond. Headlining this staff will be uncommitted 2024 RHP Stryker Blevins, the previously mentioned OF/LHP Hood and OF/RHP Kieschnick, as well as 2022 PBR Junior Future Games alum RHP Owen Horrell, who won Newcomer of the year last year. Rounding out the staff for the Tigers in 2024 will be Freshman RHP Michael Pozzi, who has the opportunity to make an impact for the varsity squad. Relying on their depth and experience across all positions, look for the Tigers to make some noise in the postseason again in 2024.
