The summer is upon us, and On the Hunt is determined to stock the follow-lists of college coaches with talented uncommitted players from around the country. This week, high-upside shortstops/infielders from the 2022 class are featured. All-around athletes, physical bats, and competitors from Arizona, Canada, Iowa, Massachusetts, Texas, and Washington are listed.

Travis Sanders SS / 2B / Copperas Cove, TX / 2022

Sanders fluid actions and quick hands stand out at a young age, and he showcases an impressive amount of all-around ability. The 5-foot-11, 155-pounder is still maturing physically, but he ran a 7.13 60-yard dash at a preseason PBR Texas event, and demonstrated the athleticism necessary to stick at shortstop moving forward. Ranging effortlessly side to side with a bounce to his step, the wiry infielder comfortably fields ground balls with twitchy hands before exhibiting the ability to whip the ball across the diamond from all angles with a quick release. At the plate, the right-handed hitter is advanced in his approach, and his fluid load stands out for the connection that the upper and lower-half share. The hands flow down and back with a slight leg hang leading to the barrel quickly working flat through the zone. His barrel lags in the zone as he remains balanced throughout an aggressive approach, and his lean frame should continue adding strength which will likely provide for significant power gains in the future. Overall, Sanders has the makings of an impact shortstop, and it will be fun to track his progress.
