SEASON PREVIEW
Kerrville Tivy returns several key players from a 2017 club that won 29 games. Leading a staunch defense up the middle will be senior infielders Lance Ford and Hunter Grimes. Ford, a left-handed hitter, is a Texas recruit with fast-twitch tools that can really swing the bat and has a great feel for the game (Ranked No. 111 in TX). Last season Hunter Grimes hit .369 and was named 1st Team All-District. Oklahoma recruit Milan Walla will hold things down in the outfield. Walla, ranked No. 85 in TX, was the Newcomer of the Year last season after hitting .455. Other returners expected to contribute to the lineup are 2018 Jack Qualls, 2018 Jose Viveros, and 2019 Braden Jaeger. Keep an eye on two underclassman, 2020 IF/P Cole Miears, and 2021 C Travis White. White, ranked No. 19 in Texas 2021 Class, is a solid defender behind the plate and is already getting a number of looks from college recruiters.
